Information for Artists

The Exhibit Space is booked for 2011.  We are currently accepting submissions for 2012.  Read below for details.

This space is for you. We will not tell you what is art and what is not. We encourage creativite expression and passion in all forms. We can not show everyone all the time, so we have some basic rules keep the space a resource for as many local artists as possible while ensuring that the space remains serious and professional.

Showing your work:
The La Tienda Exhibit Space promotes economic and educational opportunities for New Mexico artists. To ensure maximum impact, we require artists to show in groups of 4 or more (we occassionally make an exception to this, but it is rare).

Exhibitions are booked on a first come/first serve basis and are minimally juried to ensure quality. No explicit sexual or violent works will be permitted. Controversial works outside of these realms are welcomed.

The space is 2,000 square feet, and there are some rules and expectations. If you are interested in showing your work and would like to organize an exhibition, please send 1 low resolution jpg for each member of your group and the dates you are available to show to Destiny at destinyallison@aol.com.  jpgs must be labeled with the last name of the artist and the group affiliation.  Please also send a list of images with the artists' names, media and size of work.

Artists are required to hang and staff their own shows for a minimum of 4 days/week, host an opening reception, and help with publicity.

Sharing your knowledge:
The La Tienda Exhibit Space welcomes art instructors and art demonstrations. Please contact Destiny (same email) if you have a class you would like to teach or to do a demonstration.

We are not looking to take money from artists using the space. You keep all of your sales and your class fees. We only ask that you contribute a piece for our annual auction. Of course if you choose to make a monetary contribution to help keep the space going, we welcome it.
